Enter the little door and step back in time for a truly unique break. Cardynham House is graded Four star 'Guest Accommodation' by the Quality in Tourism. Located in Painswick, the “Queen of the Cotswold's”, Cardynham House is a 15th-16th Century Grade 2* listed building originally belonging to a wool merchant.
There is wealth of character to be found in every room, each decorated in a style of its own.
Each bedroom features not only a unique style but also a four poster or half tester bed and every room has an en suite bathroom with bath, shower or both. Choose from “Medieval Garden”, “Palm Beach“, "Old Tuscany”, “The Highlands”, “Dovecote”, “New England”, “Cottage Rose”, “Arabian Nights” and the “Pool Room”.
All rooms at Cardynham House are spacious and have tea and coffee making facilities, television, hair dryer and direct dial telephone configured for incoming direct dialled calls. Cots for babies are available if required. We can arrange for flowers, champagne and other gifts to be in the room prior to your arrival as a surprise. All rooms have a double bed and two rooms have a double and a single bed whilst Dovecote has a double and two single beds making it perfect for families although we also let all rooms as a double only or single occupancy of a double.
The House itself has a residents lounge with open fireplace and adjacent to this a conservatory with comfortable chairs overlooking a small internal courtyard.
Throughout the house are objects of interest, books, publications and art works.
Breakfasts at Cardynham House are a special occasion and include a traditional individually prepared English breakfast, American pancakes and porridge.
The A46 is being resealed both north and south of Painswick from Monday 6th August until Wednesday 22nd August. As a result there are some temporary diversions which will apply overnight (7pm to 7am) fom Monday to Friday. The A46 will be open at all other times. If you are arriving after 7pm Monday to Friday then please contact us on 01452 814006 for information about your route. We shall try to contact all guests who may be affected the day before arrival for route updates.
